In order to help take the busywork out of accounting, Zapier recently launched an update to one of the Xero-Zapier integration’s most popular uses, the “Create Invoice” action.
How Zapier works
Zapier enables users to connect the apps they use, all without the need for any coding know-how.
Zapier can talk to hundreds of apps. Some of the most popular apps with Xero are Slack, MailChimp, Dropbox, Evernote, Zoho and Zendesk.
The beauty of the integration is that Zapier can fire triggers (events) when a receipt, invoice or contact is created in Xero. Also, if a trigger happens in another app, it can create an action in Xero — a new contact or invoice.
About the update
Ashley Hockney from Zapier explains how the exciting new update works.
“One of the most popular uses of our Xero-Zapier integration is the ability to automate invoices from actions in other apps. It can also map information from one tool to Xero,” Ashley says.
“With this new update, you can more accurately map the fields for item codes and tax amount.”
Ashley goes on to explain that the “Create Invoice” action now enables the user to “get more detailed in line item codes and tax amounts”.
This update is another example of how Xero is working with our valued app partners, like Zapier, to help small businesses and accountants thrive.
